Barrels and Barrel liners. We can supply Sagittite barrels, liners and inserts. Sagittite is a Metal Matrix Composite material developed specifically for extruders and provides the ultimate in toughness, corrosion and wear resistance . Sagittite liners are the solution to extruder wear or contamination problems in the food, flouropolymer and pharmaceutical industries. Barrels and liners are also available at excellent prices in nitrided steels, various tool steels, stainless steels and bimetallic materials.
Feedscrews and Shafts We provide top quality replacement feedscrews to fit APV, Werner & Pfleiderer and many other twin or single screw extruders. We can also provide specialised wear or corrosion resistant coatings to extend screw life and reduce costs. Modern screw designs can be provided to greatly increase the output of older single screw extruders used in the plastics industry. We use German or American tool or powder metallurgy steels to produce our general use feedscrews, while Sagittite is  available for feedscrews used in pharmaceutical and chemical applications. Small shafts are machined from solid 4340 steel bar while larger shafts are ground or cold-rolled from 4340 steel or H13 high strength steel.
CFAM Extruders We are agents for the excellent range of  twin-screw extruders manufactured by CFAM Technologies (Pty) Ltd. Barrel diameters range in size from 19mm to 70mm.These extruders have been designed principally to meet the needs of powder coating manufacturers and compounders (see our "What's New" page), but uprated models are also available for food extrusion applications. CFAM's latest extruder, the TX80, is specifically designed to meet the needs of petfood or fishfeed producers, with a maximum output of 2 tonnes/hr.
